The buzz around the Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol starrer ‘Animal’ has been palpable in theaters, with audiences praising the powerful performances of the lead actors. The anticipation among fans for its OTT release is high, but recent developments might dampen their excitement.
Before its much-anticipated OTT debut, reports have surfaced that could disappoint eager fans. The initial plan to stream the uncut version of ‘Animal’ on Netflix has hit a snag. Media reports suggest that the film, helmed by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, will align with OTT platforms that only release CBFC-approved versions, omitting the uncut content.
Uncut version of ‘Animal’ will not be released on Netflix
In theaters, ‘Animal’ clocked in at a runtime of 3 hours 23 minutes 21 seconds, while its uncut version spanned 3 hours 51 minutes. The uncut rendition was intended for an exclusive eight-week streaming window on Netflix. However, due to the film’s ‘A’ certification, which came with CBFC-recommended alterations, approximately 28 minutes of content were removed from the original theatrical release.
Regarding the OTT platform for ‘Animal’s’ release, there hasn’t been an official confirmation. Yet, considering Netflix’s association as the film’s digital partner, expectations lean towards its streaming debut on the platform.
Star cast of ‘Animal’
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol, ‘Animal’ boasts a star-studded ensemble including Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, Prem Chopra, and Trupti Dimri in pivotal roles.
